Premiere West Palm Moving Company – 561-233-7900

When people hear West Palm Beach they think big mansions, Donald Trump, and perfect beaches. What they don’t think about is steadily dropping crime rates, a steadily growing (but still somewhat small) population, and the wonderful lack of winter. If you are moving to West Palm Beach, these are some things to remember.

Since 2000, West Palm Beach’s crime rate has dropped more than 50%. Following a trend that is happening statewide, crime rates are falling at a rapid rate in the West Palm Beach area. Even though the population is continuing to grow, people are appearing to be less violent. Police chiefs in the area are even saying the world that we live in now is safer than it was 20 years ago. Low crime rates are definitely a reason to consider moving to West Palm Beach.

The 2010 census determined that the population of West Palm Beach was at 99,919, being just shy of 100,000. A recent estimate puts that number at 104,031, making the population just over 100,000. This sows that West Palm Beach is growing at a steady rate, but it is still small enough. It isn’t overcrowded like the big cities in Florida, like Miami and Orlando, yet it has all the amenities.

Let’s not forget about the lack of winter. Being so far south means that it doesn’t get too cold. The average low for the winter months doesn’t go below 50 degrees. West Palm Beach might possibly be a slice of heaven on earth.

All Aboard Florida has made its way to West Palm Beach. All Aboard Florida is a passenger train that connects Miami to Orlando, with stops throughout cities along the way. The West Palm Beach station is going to connect various parts of the city, along with connecting the city with other cities. It has not been built yet, but plans are underway to begin construction for this express train. It is expected to be up and running by October 2016. If you are moving to West Palm Beach and have been worried about commuting, All Aboard Florida might be an option for you.

Introducing a high speed train to the state of Florida, means that residents and visitors alike can travel from city to city without a large carbon footprint, and have fun doing it. All Aboard Florida will have a high quality atmosphere, along with food and drinks.

Not only will the train be more environmentally friendly than individual cars, but it also will bring more than 1,000 jobs to the West Palm Beach area, hopefully enticing more people to move to the city. The construction of the station and rail line will create economic growth, along with more tourists passing through the area.

If this passenger train becomes intricate enough, it could mean that people moving to West Palm Beach wouldn’t need to invest in cars. America is not doing too well in terms of infrastructure, relative to other countries, so this might be a step in the right direction to keep up.

Moving to a new place can sometimes mean you have to find someone new to move in with. If you are unfamiliar with the area and you don’t have any friends, finding a roommate can be incredibly stressful; however, beneficial. There are some websites that you can go through, but most people go through their friends or use Craigslist. If you are moving to West Palm Beach, here are some tips to remember when you are looking for a roommate.

The most important aspect of having a roommate is having someone that can pull their own weight. The whole point is to share the burden. One of the most important criteria for picking your potential roomie is that they have a job. Without a job there is typically no reliable income, and an income that isn’t reliable with most definitely lead to arguments over money matters and potentially place you in a bad financial situation.

When talking to a potential roommate, try and figure out some of their habits. Are they ever home? Do they always have people tagging along with them? Do they work from home? What is their definition of clean? All of these are questions you will most likely figure out the answer to eventually, so why not be straightforward and figure out what you are getting yourself into before you sign the contract and move in with someone you barely know.

And finally, background checks will always help if you are doubting someone’s persona. You don’t want to share the space you’re living, with someone that could potentially be dangerous, so a quick background check can ease any worries you may have.

If you recently moved to West Palm, you have surely noticed the upscale stores and services the area provides its residents. There are plenty of luxury accommodations afforded to those who live in the area. A sure sign of the county’s clout is Braman Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Palm Beach. The local dealership was recognized as Rolls-Royce’s global and North American dealer of the year.

This is a very big honor for the Palm Beach Rolls-Royce dealership, as it is the first time a North American dealership has been awarded both honors. The award is based on sales, customer service and how the dealership handles used Rolls-Royces and their parts. The dealership sold 65 new Rolls-Royces last year, which is more than double what they sold it 2013. The awards will also allow the dealership to get their hands on the limited supply of new models Rolls-Royce produces. The recognition is also great for Palm Beach as whole. It illustrates the strong economy and lavish lifestyle available in Palm Beach County. As the popularity of the Rolls-Royce brand increases in the area, more cars are bought and leased, and more referrals are made. But they come at a price.

Rolls-Royces start at about $300,000 and can reach $600,000 at Braman Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Palm Beach. Leases are typically around $3,000 a month. At such a high cost, customers can personalize just about anything in their new vehicles. Paint colors, interior materials and colors, and personalized accents are all customizable.

While a Rolls-Royce may be much more extravagant than what the average Palm Beacher drives, it is still a sign of a strong and growing local economy.

Uber has exploded in West Palm. Residents use the service to travel to the airport, after a night of drinking, or when they are having car troubles. Its convenience is hard to beat. As you have probably heard, there is a lot of controversy surrounding Uber, the ride-sharing app. If you are new to town and eager to use the service but worried about its legality, your West Palm packing and moving company has some good news: Uber and Palm Beach County have made a temporary deal that will allow the service to operate uninterrupted through September.

The deal required Uber to follow several guidelines in order to continue its operation:

  • More thorough criminal background and driver history checks
  • Insurance coverage for drivers
  • Safety requirements for cars
  • $15,000 paid to the county to ensure administration and enforcement of the deal

The deal struck between the company and the county is, of course, hotly contested. Ubers and its customers argue that Uber does not provide vehicle-for-hire services, but instead is a ride-scheduling app. Uber says it doesn’t own any of the cars or employ its drivers the way a taxi service does. Opponents, on the other hand, argue that Uber is in fact a vehicle-for-hire company and should be subject to the same rules as taxi and limo companies. Uber is not forced to comply with the same rules, like:

  • A $10,000 application fee, $225 annual company fee, and $100 per vehicle annual fee
  • Higher minimum insurance requirements for drivers
  • A local office to handle customer satisfaction
  • Drivers to be at least 21 years old, have a county-issued picture ID badge and adhere to a dress code

The temporary agreement expires in September, so stay tuned to see what happens in the Uber debate here is West Palm!

The Palm Beach International Boat Show is an event locals look forward to each year. This year the show celebrated its 30th anniversary, which was very successful. It brought in record numbers, with more boats on display and more people in attendance than any other year.

More than $1.4 billion worth of yachts and boats were on display late last month. 66 of the yachts were larger than 100 feet, which was a big draw for guests, because everyone likes to see extravagant yachts at boat shows. Organizers had to install several new slips, because the show had 200 more vessels on display than two years prior. The number of vendors also greatly increased. The show does not release the number of final attendees, but organizers say attendance grew by double digits, and 40,000 were expected.

There are tons of boat shows in South Florida, but the Palm Beach International Boat Show’s draws some of the largest crowds. One of the attractions to this particular show is its easy access. There is so much waterfront in the area, so it is easy for boats and attendees to gain access. The show is also great for the local economy. Palm Beach County has the fastest-growing marine sales in South Florida, and the boat show brings in people from around the world looking to spend.

Living in West Palm means living right next to the ocean, marinas and plenty of boats, so when the annual boat show comes around, make sure to enjoy it! If you missed this year’s show, your West Palm relocation company highly suggests you make it out next year, which will likely be even bigger!

The EmKo compound has been years in the making. It was formerly the Ragtops Antique Motorcar Museum. Other culinary treats located in EmKo include Untitled Coffee & Juice Bar, the Market and the Back Alley Bakery. There are plenty of charitable causes to get involved with in West Palm. If autism research and awareness is important to you, then you may be interested in Autism Speaks. Founded by Bob and Suzanne Wright, whose grandson was diagnosed with autism at a young age, Autism Speaks is now the world’s largest autism advocacy organization. Your West Palm moving and storage service providers were happy to hear that the organization’s annual walk in West Palm, Walk Now for Autism Speaks, raised more than $400,000.

Almost 10,000 people joined the Palm Beach County Walk Now for Autism Speaks event on Sunday, March 8th. It was the first walk in a series that will take place across the nation. Founders Bob and Suzanne Wright were there to kick off the walk and empower guests. These events are essential to families who have children with autism, as they create a community of support. Raising a child with autism can be overwhelming and at times isolating, so these families come together during Walk Now for Autism Speaks. Guests included Congressman Patrick E. Murphy, Congresswoman Lois Frankel, and West Palm Beach Mayor Jeri Muoio, who were all there to show their support for the cause.

If you are passionate about autism awareness, you can get involved with Autism Speaks in Palm Beach County. It’s a wonderful cause that sponsors autism research, raises awareness for the issue, and creates a supportive and loving environment for people with autism and their families. Do not forget about the walk next year, as it is a great way to get involved.

Finding our favorite grocery store in West Palm will not be a challenge if you are new to West Palm. Planning how to spend St. Patrick’s Day when you are new in town, can be a bit challenging, since you have no idea what is popular in the area to do. It is tough to figure out where the best events are and if they are kid-friendly. Luckily, your West Palm Beach packing and moving company knows all about the city’s festivities. St. Patrick’s Day in West Palm boils down to one major event: Irish Fest. The annual celebration will be held at the Meyer Amphitheatre and throughout the downtown neighborhood on Flagler Drive. The festival is this weekend, March 14th and 15th.

Irish Fest is filled with Irish heritage, and that means lots of food and music. There will be an Irish marketplace where you can purchase Irish products from vendors; like: art pieces and other crafts. Irish Fest will also feature an international food court. You will be able to feast on traditional meals; like: corned beef and cabbage, shepherd’s pie, and Irish-style bangers and mash. Traditional music will be played in tandem with modern Celtic music. This year’s headliners are the Screaming Orphans, the Young Wolfe Tones, and Off-Kilter.

Irish Fest is a great way to spend St. Patty’s Day in West Palm. Kids 14 and under are free, and adult tickets are just $5, so you can take the entire family! After a long and stressful move, it may be just the thing you need to let loose and have a little fun! And there will be plenty to do and see for your kids, so it is an event that everyone in the family will appreciate.
