The GreenMarket of West Palm Beach is celebrating opening day at the new location in Waterfront Commons in Downtown West Palm Beach. Opening day is Saturday, October 15th and will be open every Saturday through April 14, 2012 from 8am to 1pm. Visitors can pick up everything from fresh cut flowers to freshly caught seafood. Also, the West Palm movers want to encourage vendors of fresh commodities to research the possibility to sell your goods through one of the GreenMarket vending spaces.

The GreenMarket is dog-friendly, offers free parking, and is a great way to support local vendors and enjoy the waterfront atmosphere. Check out wpb.org/greenmarket to learn more about the exact location and special events.

Plans have been released to create a new development in Miami called Resort World Miami. Genting Group of Malaysia has decided to overhaul the location of the Miami Herald and create a 10 million square foot project that will contain meeting space, convention areas, a ballroom, four luxury hotels, a 250,000 luxury retail center, and more than 50 restaurants.

Local South Florida architecture firm Arquitectonica has been entrusted with the task of creating the plans, which can be seen here. The $3 billion investment will stimulate the South Florida economy by creating 15,000 construction jobs and a sustained 30,000 jobs to staff the resort. While the date to begin construction hasn’t been released, the Resorts World is causing great expectations here at the Boca Raton movers and surrounding tri-county area.

Last Friday, West Palm residents came out in droves for the opportunity to meet with loan counselors to negotiate mortgage rates. The event lasted one day at the Palm Beach County Convention Center and was hosted by Hope Now and Ocwen Financial Corporation. The event aimed to offer homeowners options and alternatives to foreclosure, and also to offer refinance rates to eligible homeowners.

The event served as a helpful and informative session for homeowners who have had trouble communicating with their banks. With rotating employees, lost paperwork, and unreliable representatives, many homeowners gladly embraced the opportunity to speak with knowledgeable advisers on how to handle their financial situations.

Foreclosures are still a significant part of the real estate market, and prices to resell homes in foreclosure are also still dropping in comparison with 2010. Combined with slow job opportunities and delinquent homeowners, foreclosures seem to be pretty consistent for the time being.

If you’ve recently purchased a home in foreclosure and need assistance moving in, contact your friendly West Palm movers for the best service and competitive rates.

Flavor Palm Beach is about to celebrate the beginning of its fourth annual event September 1st and running through September 30th. The dining event will offer lunches for $20 per person and dinners for $30-35 per person at participating high end restaurants. Each meal, lunch and dinner, will consist of three courses. The goal is to get West Palm residents out and sampling new restaurants for a fraction of the cost.

Here at the West Palm movers, we’re excited to try a new slew of restaurants that we’ve been putting off, such as City Oyster and 32 East. You can view a full list of participating restaurants, as well as their special prix-fix menu for Flavor Palm Beach by visiting the official event website. You can also access Open Table to make reservations online.

To enhance the safety and security of West Palm Beach, community security cameras are being placed throughout the city. The cameras will be placed in opular locations such as City Place, Clematis Street, the Waterfront, and other choice locations in West Palm. But the city isn’t stopping there–portable wireless cameras will be placed and set u at special events and on an “as-needed” basis. These wireless cameras can be accessed by trolling police officers with full zoom capabilities.

The cameras will be strategically located on light poles and on top of buildings to get an aerial view of any criminal activity that takes place. Here at the West Palm movers, we think it’s a great addition to the existing 30+ cameras installed in West Palm. Crimes are inevitable in every area, and cameras don’t lie. In fact, a murder in 2008 was prosecuted with the help of a city camera that was caught on one of the inconspicuous cameras.

Let’s all unite to keep West Palm a place to raise our families and operate our businesses!

Maybe it’s the sky-high temperatures that have West Palm residents indulging in frozen yogurt. Maybe it’s the new concept of paying by the ounce with open toppings bars. Whatever it is, West Palm (and the rest of South Florida) are crazy for frozen yogurt. With chain stores like Menchie’s popping up all over the tri-county area, the frozen yogurt stores are living by the populat adage “if you build it, they will come.” Not only are they coming, but they are coming in droves.

The West Palm movers have personal favorite locations conveniently locate in the Palm Beach area at PGA Commons and CityPlace. Menchies, Red Mango, Tutti Frutti, Freshberry–these are just a few of the popular yogurt chains inflitrating Palm Beach County and beyond. For those who haven’t jumped on the fro-yo bandwagon, it is a lower calorie and low sugar alternative to ice cream.

To somebody who doesn’t move very often, and who doesn’t work in the moving industry, all moving companies may seem the same. Sadly, this all-too-common misjudgment is the cause of many moving day nightmares. Your mover here in West Palm Beach has been providing professional relocation services in Florida for years and years. Many start-up moving companies in the area who are eager to reach our level of success will operate under a very similar name in order to garner business from people who intend to schedule their move with us. It may seem like a foolish mistake, but to someone who isn’t expecting a fly-by-night moving company to stoop to such low levels, this is a mistake that could easily be made; especially considering the hectic nature of each day leading up to your move. Be careful when hiring movers, be sure to research prospective movers online, and also make sure that you actually hire the moving company you meant to hire!

Three tiger cubs were born at the Palm Beach Zoo back in May, and this Friday they will be out for their first meet and greet to the general public of zoo visitors. They will come out at 5:30 pm as part of the zoo’s Safari Night.

For those who are unable to attend the unveiling on Friday afternoon, you can check up on the cubs anytime you’d like from 10am-4pm daily at http://palmbeachzoo.org/tiger-cam.html. The Malayan cubs were born to mom Berapi and dad Rhimba, who were introduced with mating intention last November. The Malayan tigers are one of the smallest breeds, with an estimated 500 in captivity.

The West Palm movers are excited for the new additions to the Palm Beach Zoo, and very happy for the tiger family of 5! If you’re new to the West Palm area, be sure to keep up with our website and blog for events and tips on maximizing your living in Palm Beach County, FL.
