Everyone knows that one of the best parts of being a South Floridian is the fact that you get to enjoy warm weather all year long, and that you get to take advantage of being so close to the ocean. Your West Palm movers will be the first ones to tell you that if you didn’t love the water before you moved to Florida, you will find yourself falling in love with the salt water soon enough.

Do you want to know another reason why you will find yourself closer and closer to the water’s edge after your West Palm Beach moving company finishes settling you and your family into your new home? Because of the city docks that West Palm Beach has opened along Flagler Drive, that’s why!

Your West Palm movers will be the first to tell you that in order to get a feel for your new city, you should head on over to the three new docks in downtown West Palm. Honored with the Florida Marine Industries “Project of the Year” award, the West Palm Beach docks are a key aspect of their downtown revitalization project. Geared towards making the entire downtown waterfront area more beautiful, the docks are the perfect place to people watch, watch the sun rise, and enjoy the smell of the sea air.

Since the completion of the docks project, they have been used for tons of outdoor events, including West Palm Beach’s annual music event, Sunfest. Needless to say, the docks bring the community closer to the water, as West Palm movers know that all new residents soon find out!

Good news for those who are using West Palm Beach movers, you are moving into your new home at just the right time! West Palm Beach hospitals are going to open stand-alone emergency centers in the areas that have the highest inflow of patients.

Unlike urgent care centers, the new emergency centers will treat medical emergencies ranging from abdominal pain, broken bones, cardiac symptoms, dehydration and head injuries. All of the centers will have staff available who can operate CT scans, X-Rays and ultrasounds, as well as perform clinical laboratory services and dispense pharmaceuticals.

According to the CEO of West Boca Medical Center, Mitch Feldman, “we’re looking to treat patients who have a higher severity of illness – similar to an ER.”

West Palm movers learned that many of the satellite centers can offer faster help than a much larger ER at the hospital can. This means that all of the families that West Palm Beach moving companies are moving, will not have to worry about receiving adequate care in the event of an emergency.

One husband of a recent patient of one of the new satellite emergency rooms, Gary Farmer, can attest to the quickness of visiting one of these centers instead of one of the larger ones. Regarding the speed with which they were helped, Farmer states that, “they were right on her – like fleas on honey.” And, her visit only lasted one hour.

One of the first stand-alone emergency rooms was in Aventura in 2008. In total, the center attracts about 16,000 patients a year, which significantly helps the community manage the amount of patients that get seen on a daily basis.

For those moving to West Palm Beach soon, one thing they will not have to worry about is how to lower Everglades pollution.

This year, sugar cane farmers of Lake Okeechobee were able to eliminate three times as much polluting phosphorus than what is required by state officials. In total, the 79% reduction is a sign of the restoration success for the Everglades, according to state officials and agricultural representatives.

Vice president for the Sugar Cane Growers Cooperative of Florida, Barbara Miedema, shared that, “we are getting better at what we are doing. We take the Everglades’ restoration very seriously.”

This is great news for those who plan on having West Palm Beach movers settle them into their new home; after all, West Palm Beach locals should be able to bring their families to visit the Everglades without worrying if it will still be there in the future.

Since the Everglades is home to 20 endangered species and drinking water for all of South Florida, water-pollution cleanup requirements are a big part of the multibillion-dollar state and federal effort to protect what remains of the Everglades. West Palm Beach movers will not have to worry about moving new families in who will not be able to enjoy one of Florida’s most important wetlands. In fact, over the past 20 years, the agricultural area of the Everglades (totaling about 500,000 acres) has averaged a 56% reduction.

The drastic reduction in the amount of pollution affecting the Everglades, is due to sugar cane farmers using less fertilizer, cleaning out drainage ditches, using different irrigation practices, and taking steps to curb pollution that drains towards the Everglades.

The South Florida Water Management District board attests that “the results have been outstanding.”

Now that your West Palm Beach movers have finally finished moving you and your family into your new home, you must make sure that you explore your new city with your whole family.
