Generally, the idea of a home theater was something allowed only to those with large bank accounts and large homes. In today’s times, however, a home theater is something that can be attained by many. With the right shopping savvy, you can build a home theater in your own home and enjoy spending nights watching movies with family and friends. The West Palm movers are here to share tips on creating a home theater.

Map out seating. How much room do you need? If there are times where you would like to entertain guests and watch events, like the Oscars or the Superbowl, create a seating setup that is multifunctional and will easily accommodate many guests. If your main initiative is to have a place for friends and family to congregate and relax, you can think on the smaller scale. A sectional sofa is usually a good bet,and beanbags are a great way to easily add seating options.

Get your entertainment center. While there are speaker options ranking with the best of the best, like Bose, there are also well known brands that offer speaker sets at a fraction of the cost. A great piece to add for instant television sound amplification is a sound bar. The piece is lightweight and easily mounts below your television to provide amplified sound.

Also, consider how important are refreshments? Mini fridges are a great way to keep a few cold beverages in the room. A bigger refrigerator will be convenient if you have food, ice cream, and other items you want readily available.

Once you figure out your needs and wants, start building your home theater!

Some people have a knack (and a passion) for tidiness. Some people, on the other hand, do not. If you are in the latter group, you will benefit from these tips brought to you by the West Palm movers. We know how important cleanliness is to some people, and if you are living with family or a significant other who is obsessed with tidiness there are a few tricks you can master to fool your roommate that you are more organized than you really are.

Always make the bed. Even in a room where there it clutter, boxes of stuff, and shoes on the floor, a made up bed makes the room appear tidy, put together, and organized. Make it easier for you by using bedding that is easy to make up. A big fluffy duvet will hide lumpy sheets, whereas a fitted quilt will accentuate errors. Also, having a few shams in addition to traditional pillows will help you gain the look of an organized bed and not just one thrown together. A bedskirt is generally a nice touch as well.

Have plenty of drawers, cabinets and shelves. When you lack storage, items wind up stacked on dressers and tabletops or shoved under the bed or in closets. Prevent clutter and black holes by providing yourself with enough storage to keep it all under wraps. Even if things are a wreck behind the cabinet door, you wouldn’t know it by looking at the room as a whole.

Take the trash out. A full trash can is a sign of junk– get it out of the house already! It’s generally a good rule to take the trash out daily or every other day, and it also helps establish a system of throwing things out when you are done with them.

According to recent reports by the Palm Beach Post, there are three open offers competing for the winning bid to build in downtown West Palm. The location is set to be where the old City Hall building stands, which is near the waterfront and easily caters to the booming downtown area and would appeal to tourists looking to stay in the center of it all. The West Palm movers have learned some of the specifics regarding competing potential plans:

1. A five-story hotel that would cost $3.1 million to build

2. A $12 million hotel that would be 15 stories, comprised of 120 hotel rooms, 260 condo units and retail space on the ground floor

3. $15 million for a 12-story building with 200 hotel rooms, lobby retail space and an undisclosed amount of residential units

The West Palm movers know that a large part of the decision will be based on realistic occupancy rates and what will be sized to succeed rather than sized too small or too big. There is also an attached piece of land that the city is requiring gets turned into a public park. The height of the building is also up for debate, and the overall project will have elements present on the March 2013 ballot.

According to recent reports, basketball legend Magic Johnson debated purchasing the flailing Promenade condo and revamping the huge foreclosed condo in downtown Boynton Beach. However, an auction by Wells Fargo set to take place on December 13th will now allow the property to be sold to the highest bidder. The West Palm movers have heard the Promenade called the “posterchild for the condo real estate bubble,” and hopes that the property can revive itself are strong.

The Promenade is a two-tower, 14 story complex that opened as the real estate market tanked. Only about 1/4th of the units in the complex were sold, leaving a lot of unaccounted for funding that failed to arise. Units were priced at $160,000; and perhaps selling to a new management and funding entity will bring new life into the complex, especially as Palm Beach rental availability is lesser and lesser each day.

Despite a roller coaster of months for the Hobe Sound real estate market, data from local professionals has shown that the sales in the area have rebounded dramatically from previous months, posting a 142% increase in residential single family home sales. The Palm Beach County movers are excited that the area which was struggling has made such vast improvement.

Throughout the summer and into fall, surrounding areas like Tequesta, Jupiter, and Palm Beach have seen consistent sales, but Hobe Sound was frequently lagging. Slight increases in inventory have been a powerful move for the local market, and once reasonable homes hit the market they don’t spend much time on it.

For October (in comparison to September):

Hobe Sound – up 142%
Tequesta – up 30%
Jupiter – up 3%
Palm Beach Gardens – down 3%
North Palm Beach – down 18%

In West Palm Beach, rental demand is steadily growing and maintaining popularity. According to a recent report for real estate data firm CoreLogic, West Palm Beach surged the ranks to rise to the top 10 national rental metros. First place was nearby Port St. Lucie, which experienced a 35 percent surge in rental demand this year. The West Palm movers are glad that families are able to turn to the vast rental markets in these areas in the face of mortgage problems such as foreclosure which still affect many homeowners.

Single family rental rates have risen in conjunction with a weak labor market, tight underwriting for mortgages, and continually rising foreclosures. Rental inventory in West Palm Beach has dropped to 2.6 months worth of inventory–a drop from last year’s 3.2 months and from 2007’s 5 months.

As with the demand, the availability of units run the gamut from upgraded and brand new units to horribly decrepit units that people are still renting out of sheer desperation. Hopefully the demand for these units to rise from sub-par decor will be a future endeavor to enhance the overall face of the West Palm market.

For small businesses in West Palm Beach, the need to maximize budget and get the most out of rent is an essential element to a healthy business. Two small business owners have moved out of the popular City Place and moved to the up and coming Clematis area to open up shop. Clematis is a rising area and convenient to other downtown amenities. The West Palm movers want to encourage small businesses to pick the area of town that will serve their target demographic the best.

CityPlace is a great location for destination shopping and retail establishments, but for more on the go retail tenants, a high traffic area like Clematis may suit you the best. Look into the demographics of where you are thinking to move before packing up those boxes, and be sure to call All My Sons when you need help with your commercial move!

Clematis Street just got a new eatery that’s sure to draw crowds–Hamburger Heaven! The iconic restaurant which has always been located across the bridge from Palm Beach is making a bold move to downtown West Palm Beach’s famed Clematis Street. The West Palm movers encourage everyone to come on out and support the new location when it opens in December.

The venue for the restaurant is the old America Restaurant Bar, which closed in 2004. The new location is twice the size of the previous Hamburger Heaven, and will seat 180 guests indoors and outdoors.

The location is ideal for many, because it doesn’t require crossing the bridge and is centrally located in a commercial area of town. Hamburger Heaven joins Grease Burger Bar, Five Guys and Duffy’s, as well as several other places that sell hamburgers.

West Palm is a gorgeous area that one can spend a while in, but most vacations are cut down to a week or a weekend for most Americans. So, how to maximize your time in Palm Beach on a 3 day visit? The West Palm movers want to help you learn the “must see & do” attractions of Palm Beach. See you down here!

Stay anywhere from West Palm Beach to Boca and you’ll be in the vicinity. The Brazilian Court Hotel & Beach Club has been a long renowned celebrity and socialite hotspot. If you don’t want to commit to the hotel as lodging, at least stop by for a drink at the Leopard Lounge!

Cucina Dell Arte and Testa’s are both fantastic dining places, and you won’t be disappointed in the cuisine whatsoever. Be sure to make a reservation as these popular restaurants are swarming with locals and tourists alike.

Definitely stop by Clematis Street and Worth Avenue to see the two most famed streets of West Palm. The Flagler Museum is also a great place to visit and check out some of the history from the area.

See you on the beach!

Miami real estate is gaining momentum, according to a recent report in the Miami Herald that shares how real estate and hotels are getting snapped up, sold, remodeled, and boosted in value as investors from all over the world want a piece of the notorious Miami scene. Hotels like the Delano, SLS, and the anticipated Gale Hotel are a perfect trio of how much money is injected into South Beach lodging. Miami is a hot market right now, hot in the middle of a re-building boom. As the year approaches the global event of Art Basel in December, the popularity of Miami will only continue to surge.

The West Palm movers are sure the momentum from Dade county on up to Palm Beach. As hotels become scarce and investors are looking for prime, pristine beaches, there is nowhere in South Florida quite like Palm Beach.
