Palm Beach County has seen dramatic increases in home sales, making it difficult for those buyers still looking to land a home. Locally, the demand is there and the supply is dwindling. For May of this year, Jupiter was up 23%, Tequesta up 8%, Hobe Sound up 8%, North Palm Beach down 36%, Juno Beach down 36%. With a currently fixed mortgage rate percentage at 3.67 percent, buyers are buying and inventories are drying up. For May, that makes it the third straight month to see sales increases.

The Jupiter movers have noted that sales were up in every category. The most successful sales were found in the $300,001-$500,000 price range, which made up 33% of the sales for Palm Beach County. Median home price was down slightly from April, but still up from 2011.

Foreclosures and repossessions were scarily common over the past few years across the US- and Palm Beach County was no exception. More than 12,600 homes throughout the state of Florida were owned by Freddie Mac & Fannie Mae loan entities, making Florida the third highest client of the lenders in the nation. Now issues have arisen regarding the failure to maintain foreclosed properties with thousands of contractor hired by the loan entities.

From the year 2008 until almost the end of 2011, foreclosure management programs within the agencies went largely unsupervised, and reviews were never performed on the 10,000 contractors who were brought on to maintain lawns, repair roofs, keep up pools and perform routine maintenance. The Palm Beach movers have learned problems have arisen around duplicate reimbursements, limited complaint tracking, little to no corrective actions performed.

Palm Beach County is seemingly feeling a surge of optimism in terms of the real estate industry. A little over a year ago, there was a 12-month supply of homes on the market available for purchase–that number has been drastically reduced to 5.4 months worth of inventory, which is below the national normal market standard of 6 months of inventory.

In terms of new construction and development, the Juno Beach movers have learned that the West Palm area is heading towards a seven-year high in development applications. Hopefully, the real estate inventory and the application popularity are signs of good and prosperous times to come.

Since 2007, homeowners whose banks have written off unpaid mortgage debt following a short sale have been able to write that money off of tax returns. Ditto for money involved in a principal reductions or foreclosures.

However, that is all about to change. The Mortgage Forgiveness Debt Relief Act of 2007 will come to an end December 31, 2012. This means a state of panic for homeowners on the cusp of considering whether or not to put their home up for short sale to allow a few months window before the year comes to an end.

The Palm Beach county movers want to encourage you to move forward with a pending short sale if that is something you’ve been considering for a financially distressed property. You could wind up saving thousands in tax money!

Now’s the time to buy in West Palm Beach, according to the Realtors Association of the Palm Beaches. About a year ago, there was a year’s supply of homes for sale available on the local market–now, that number has dropped significantly to about 5 months work of inventory.

The Palm Beach movers have also learned that the city is on track to reach a seven year high for development applications for new construction. The Palm Beach movers are thrilled to hear that as of right now, the real estate market seems to be moving on track in the county. The prices are good, value is great and inventory is below the average market. We’ll keep you posted on how June stacks up in the coming weeks.

Federal approval was given to Environmental Protection Agency’s Everglades Restoration Project today, to the tune of $880 million over a large 12 month cleanup project. The Palm Beach movers have learned that the efforts will be a historic milestone in restoring America’s Everglades, which are a key water source for South Florida.

In the past years, development has damaged the Everglades and much of the swamp has been drained and polluted with fertilizers and urban runoff. The latest plan for restoration was submitted by the South Florida water management district. A healthy Everglades ecosystem is necessary for the well-being of Florida and will contribute jobs and billions of dollars to Florida’s economy.

Dwayne Johnson, better-known as The Rock, recently sold his 9,120 square-foot house for roughly five million dollars. The expansive abode is complete with its own movie theater, plenty of spacious bedrooms and bathrooms, and even an infinity-style pool! Your West Palm professional mover here is green with envy after viewing pictures of The Rock’s former pad. With the upcoming roles in a Michael Bay film as well as a G.I. Joe movie, your West Palm Beach mover here can’t help but wonder what The Rock’s next home purchase will look like.

A beautification process has been underway for the West Palm Beach Tri-Rail station, according to the Palm Beach Post. The project has taken 2 years, and will be completed around July of this year. The project cost around $750,000, which was donated as a grant by the Florida Department of Transportation. This is the first upgrade to the facility in 15 years, and the original structure dates back to the 1920s.

The Palm Beach County movers are glad to see revitalization of some of WPB’s most tourist driven areas. The station, which does direct runs to several cities, including nonstop service to Orlando, gets a lot of foot traffic for individuals coming to visit Palm Beach.

In today’s Palm Beach, the residential single-family home is much more attainable than it was in the past. Housing affordability is stronger than ever in Palm Beach County, which is a bright side of the foreclosures and other real estate tragedies that have struck the nation, Florida included. For Palm Beach, the current affordability is the best its been in 21 years.
